100th Post Celebration!

I can't believe we've made it to 100 posts! This is so exciting! When I first started my blog I was thinking day to day, rather than on the bigger picture, and so I can't believe we've made it this far! It's taken us 10 months of posting twice a week every week to get here, but we've done it.

It's so strange to think about back in April when I first created GlobalSolo. I was honestly just looking for a creative outlet. I used to love writing and, after I finished with university, I never really got the chance to just sit down and write, so I figured a blog would be a good idea. I was also really keen to document my trips; I like to think I'm good at planning exciting and interesting trips, and I wanted to show others my experiences...of course, that didn't quite pan out. This year GlobalSolo has been more of a lifestyle blog as I haven't been able to go anywhere due to the pandemic. However I've had just as much fun with that and I can't wait to see what the future holds in regards to this blog and future content. Twice a week since April I've had the best time writing blog posts; I'm so glad I made this decision.

I thought I would be a bit retrospective in this blog post, and think about some of my favourite blog posts. Of course, I have to mention the series that started it all, and my first time covering a trip of mine, which was my Florida 2019 trip. This was the trip of a lifetime, and I loved recapping it and reminiscing by writing out this series on my blog. I think it was also a great way to kick start this blog; with a really exciting trip!

I love blog posts where I can share some of my own tips and tricks about travel. One of my favourites was my Edinburgh series where I covered everything you might need to know about Edinburgh, including some of the best places to eat. I've also covered blog posts like how to deal with travel sickness, which allows me to impart some of my wisdom! Sometimes I've also made up some itineraries for trips out into the world, which I have a lot of fun putting together, including my day in Edinburgh itinerary.

I've also done a lot of blog posts about my day to day life. It's been nice sharing that part of myself on this blog, and also covering some of my favourite ways to celebrate birthdays, for example! I've also been able to share with you some really cool experiences I've got to do over the past year, including my first ever drive-in movie; it was so much fun! Finally, I've also tried my hand at cooking, and shared my successes (and failures) with the blog!

I'm so excited about where this blog has got to. I'm in a place where I'm really happy with the content, and I hope you're enjoying it too. While I would do this blog even if nobody was reading it, it's been amazing to see our readership and subscribers grow. It's been great to continue to adapt the blog and include a monthly newsletter, which is always so fun to put together.

I can't thank you all enough for reading, whether you've been here since the beginning, or this is the first blog post you've come across. It's been an amazing journey, and I can't wait to see where we are when we hit our 200th blog post!
