Guacamole and Salsa Recipe
Today I thought I'd do something a little bit different and share my family's guacamole recipe (which conveniently creates salsa as well). We love having Mexican food for dinner, especially if it involves guacamole, so we eat this quite a lot. As a result I feel I have mastered my dad's recipe, which I will be showing you today.
1 large onion
1 teaspoon of chilli powder
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
1 teaspoon of soured cream
Start by finely chopping one large onion and put it in a jug or a large bowl.
Add 1 tsp of chilli powder.
Drain a tin of chopped tomatoes and add to the mixture.
Cut off the top of a lime and squeeze in its juice. Add in salt and pepper as well.
Blitz the ingredients together (you could also mash with a fork if you don't have a blitzer).
Voila...salsa! Transfer to a different bowl.
Scoop out the centre of two avocados and put in the jug.
Add 1.5 tablespoons of the salsa.
Add 1 teaspoon of soured cream.
Mush with a fork until it's baby food consistency.
Cut the lime in half and squeeze in to the mixture. Add in a sprinkling of salt and pepper.
And you're done...perfect salsa and guacamole!
