Must Do Attractions at Universal Studios
Earlier this month, I did a blog post all about the must do attractions (in my opinion) at Walt Disney World. Today, I'll be doing the same for Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. While my past blog post had different categories due to the sheer amount of rides at Disney, this time it will be more of a casual list, as Universal is a much smaller theme park. Please bear in mind that these are all my own personal opinion, and enjoy!
This is my favourite ride in all of Universal Studios. A classic shooter game, you are in a moving vehicle throughout city streets shooting at aliens you encounter. What makes this ride different is the competition element with the other ride vehicle playing on the other side of each room; there are plenty of opportunities to win and lose points against them. Each of the sets you pass through are huge, with so much detail. To top it all off, this ride spins you like nothing else; you will feel very dizzy at the end but it's so much fun!
This is a close second best for me. This ride is a bit controversial; ask anyone who has been on it and they'll either love it or hate it. Personally, I think it's fantastic, and so unique. A 3D ride, you travel through a mix of in-person sets before entering a large warehouse with screens all around the truck you are in. The combination of these screens and the vehicle moving makes it feel like what's happening around you is happening in real life. It's incredibly thrilling while not being too intense; I think any member of your family would enjoy this ride.
Again, this is another one that people have mixed opinions about but I just think it's so much fun. Even if you're not a Simpsons fan, this one will be so joyful from start to finish. A simulator in front of a massive screen, this is a bit more intense than something like Skull Island; I had to close my eyes several times! That being said, it's just so much fun, and it's something I could go on again and again.
We are switching things up a bit here and moving on to a stage show rather than a ride. That being said, it's definitely worth taking a break from all the fast-paced fun to enjoy this delightful show. The performance features two actors showing you how movies and TV shows do gory special effects. It's absolutely fantastic and really funny. Be warned though, it does ask for audience participation!
The final of my top rides, I swithered over whether to include it. On one hand, it's such an intense ride. Like, seriously intense. I couldn't go on any other attractions for quite some time after this one as I felt so nauseous! It moves you around sets and screens in such a way that never ceases; it even tips you upside down briefly! If you're a thrill seeker, this will be the ride for you, as long as you're alright with motion sickness. On the other hand, I have never seen or heard of an attraction like this; it's so unique in the way it works and the entire experience is absolutely mind-blowing. It's a once in a lifetime experience so I highly recommend you give it a go.
And that's my list of my favourite attractions at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I'd love to know what your favourite rides are in these parks; let me know in the comments below or on social media:
