My 25th Birthday

Can you believe it, I've turned 25! Spending my birthday in lockdown certainly wasn't what I was expecting, however I ended up having a really lovely, relaxing day. So today I've decided to share with you how I spent my birthday, and hopefully it will give someone out there some inspiration for any birthday plans they may be brewing up!

As it should be with any birthday, I began the day by opening my presents. I feel incredibly lucky for the very generous gifts I was given; they were amazing! There was definitely a Harry Potter theme to my presents (which I am certainly not complaining about).

This year I was fortunate to open:

  • A plethora of Japanese sweets

  • Dinosaur earrings

  • A phone case

  • The new Hunger Games book

  • A Golden Snitch candle

  • A set of Harry Potter books with the beautiful new covers

  • Essence of Beauty shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil

  • A Harry Potter origami book

  • A Quidditch set

  • Two beautiful jumpers

From there I had a croissant for breakfast, which is one of my favourite breakfast items, and then spent the morning lazing around watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (which I have only just discovered and I think I'm addicted - anyone else a Real Housewives fan)?

It wasn't long until lunchtime hit, and my mum had put together the most amazing summer picnic spread. It had crisps, fruit, dips, pasta, bread, potato salad, olives, smoothies, chicken...everything I could think of. It was absolutely delicious, and I was left very full afterwards to say the least!

We then went on a walk in our local woods, which is one of my favourite places to go. I don't know what it is about woodlands but I just feel so calm there, so it was really nice to spend some time walking around these amazing woods for my birthday. What was also nice about it was that we managed to get home just in time right before the thunderstorm hit. It was pretty dramatic, and I adored it as I love when it pours with rain. Unfortunately I didn't get a shot of it, so I've included a video from the last time we got a storm...there's something so relaxing about it.

From there we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and watching TV. As evening fell we ordered dinner from our local fish and chip shop (one of my favourite dinners). We each got a variety of different things. I went for chicken nuggets (don't judge, they're amazing), and chips and curry sauce (literally my favourite food in the entire world). It was delicious!

For pudding my mum had ordered in the most amazing cheesecakes I have ever seen. There were so many flavours, including honeycomb, strawberry, millionaire shortbread, and profiterole. They were insanely good, I highly recommend the English Cheesecake Company if you enjoy your cheesecakes!

And with that we sat around to watch my film pick of the evening What We Do in the Shadows. If you haven't watched it before I can't recommend it enough! From there we retired to bed for the evening. It was such a lovely day; it was exactly what I wanted from a birthday, which was to relax and just enjoy doing nothing. And now I can't believe I'm 25...I'm ready for my quarter life crisis!

Until next time,
