Summer Fun in Lockdown

Spending the summer self-isolating isn't great fun when you've already been doing so for several months now, but it's important to still take advantage of the sunny weather and have a fun time! Below I've listed some of my personal favourite things to do at home when the sun is shining outside!

Picnic in the Garden

It's a classic for a reason; there's nothing more fun than getting your favourite foods together for a picnic in the garden. Set out a blanket on the grass, put some music on, and enjoy! I personally enjoy the classics; strawberries, croissants, elderflower presse, and carrot sticks!

Practice Your Cooking Skills

Summer is a great time to try out some new recipes. If you're feeling daring, why not give quiche a go?! I personally enjoy making pizzas with different toppings each time. Summer's the time to try light, healthy recipes, like salads!

A Surprise Road Trip While we can't go everywhere we want to at the moment, we can still drive around to explore new areas! Grab your keys, just drive, and see where the wind takes you! It can be lovely to just drive to the seaside and watch the ocean for a while.

Host a Quiz Night

If you know anything about me, you'll know that I love a quiz. Why not enjoy the warm breeze in the evening by your window hosting a Zoom quiz for your friends/family? My family like to organise ten questions each so that we share the responsibility of coming up with the questions.

Make an Outdoor Cinema

Once the sun begins to set, create a cosy area in the corner of your garden. Grab some blankets and cushions, and a tent if you have one, and make a little cinema zone. Lanterns and fairy lights can help add some ambience as well. Then grab your laptop and pop a film on. Don't forget the popcorn!

And that's my list! I'd love to know what your favourite things to do at home in the summer are. I apologise that this is a shorter one today; unfortunately I've hit a busy point at work, however hopefully I'm coming out of the other side of this now so I should have some fun content coming your way!

Until next time,
